BANGALORE: An enthusiastic crowd of book lovers attended the launch of Knocked Up,  a hilarious tale of friendship, love and happiness written by Shaiju Mathew at the Reliance TimeOut on Cunningham Road, recently.

The debut novel of Shaiju Mathew, a columnist and screenplay writer for Hindi movies, was released by actor Bob Cristo.

Knocked Up is a story of friendship  and togetherness experienced and redefined by three friends — Sid, Ron and Prateik. This light-hearted story may very well relate to you, if you are among those who still nurture the funniest moments spent with a set of childhood friends who are as whacked and crazy as you are.  According to the author, this simple and humourous story will put a smile on your face making you miss those fun-filled teenage days. Through the characters, Sid, Ron and Prateik, who have nothing in common other than their friendship and zest for life, the novelist tries to unwind several fun-filled incidents that ultimately led to the fun loving trio, who were never serious about their lives or career,  find their goals and meaning to their life.

Shaiju has also been writing articles for magazines and entertainment portals as a freelancer. Shaiju, who was born and brought up in Pune, resides in Bangalore.

The book launch session was followed by reading excerpts from the book, giving a thorough idea on the interesting aspects and story line. There was also an interactive session with people present there. The book is priced at Rs 135.
