Guru Rao, a retired freedom fighter has lost his fight for the freedom fighters’ pension.
His plight was brought to light in City Express on November 22. Shalini Rajn -eesh has now dealt the final blow, she said, “Guru Rao has provided many documents to prove that he was a freedom fighter and participated in Quit India Movement but those documents are not valid. Survival should not be difficult for him as he is now receiving the Rs 1,000 as disability allowance.”
She claimed that Guru Rao has also been to Lokayukta and other media houses.
“If such an allowance is given to one person without any valid documents, then any number of counterfeit cases will be on increase,” added Shalini.
