I am innocent, probe the issue: Pascal tells police

“I am innocent. Truth will come out one day. My concern is only to save my daughter from the person who has abused her sexually,” said Pascal Mazurier, consular attache at Consulate General of France in Bangalore, Chief of Joint Chancellery.

He has been accused of raping his four-year-old daughter. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Pascal said, “I am worried about the safety of my children. I have also filed a complaint with the police commissioner seeking a fair investigation into the matter.”

He alleged that he has been framed in the case. “There is no DNA evidence against me. Nobody is trying to find who has abused my daughter.”

Pascal had met commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji on November 5  and requested him to order an investigation to find out the facts. He said he had to save his daughter from the person who sexually abused her.

“I have been granted bail on the basis of the DNA test results and the testimonies of witnesses. The investigation is over and I am respecting the conditions of my bail. Although the DNA results are known since early July 2012, it seems nobody is trying to nab the abuser. My wife ignored the DNA results, criticised the police, and did not even bother to know the identity of the abuser,” he said in the complaint. “It’s my duty as a father to protect my children. I have spent four months in jail and during that period, my children have been exposed to those, who framed me. Who will be responsible if my daughter had been abused again since June? Why so many disturbing facts about my wife’s statements are taken for granted? She has falsely accused me and she has made false statements to the police and court. I am confident that police could reveal the truth,” he said.

Further, he admitted that he had marital discord with his wife Suja Jones. “I knew that my wife used to go out a lot, including late night parties. She was accompanied by her friends along with male friends. As a husband and father, I was worried about it and I objected to her behaviour. But, she used to pick up quarrels with me over this. I tried to spend time with my children, but due to professional duties, I had to spend long hours in office and leave them under my wife’s responsibility.”

“As a father, I request you to investigate to identify the man who sexually assaulted my minor daughter and take action against any other person, male or female, connected to this crime.” Additional Police Commissioner (L&O) T Suneel Kumar said he had ordered an ACP to probe the matter.
