Stamp released on India Cements founder’s birth centenary

A commemorative postage stamp was released on the occasion of the birth centenary of the founder of India Cements, T S Narayanaswami, in the city on Sunday.

Releasing the postage stamp in the presence of other industrialists and sportspersons, Governor K Rosaiah said that celebrating the birth centenary of a personality is not only to recollect his contributions but also to make the younger generation aware of how they successfully broke all barriers and turned obstructions in to stepping stones for success. The Governor also released a booklet titled Life and Times of Shri T S Narayanaswami.

N Srinivasan, vice chairman and managing director, India Cements, spoke about his father. M A M Ramaswamy, chairman, Chettinad Group of Companies received the commemorative postage stamp and praised the founder.

Arun Jaitley, leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Rajeev Shukla, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning, cricketers M S Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and Ashwin and Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy were present at the function.
