Students Battle for Top Laurels at Inter-school Science Fest

An inter-school science fest was organised at Sri Sankara Vidyalaya School, Pammal, with many schools participating. The students displayed models on nanotechnology, robotics, communication, bio energy and disaster management.

The fest was inaugurated by Dr Joel Karunakaran, Head of the Department of Chemistry, MCC. The contest was held on four levels, which were judged by Dr P Krishnan, former professor of Chemistry, MCC and Adline and Selvi from Sankara Vidyalaya, Tambaram.

Dr P S Sudhakar, joint director, CPR Environmental Education Centre, distributed the prizes.

The prize in the first level (Classes 4 and 5) went to Sri Sankara Vidyalaya, Pammal, for the topic — Disaster Management. In the second level (Classes 6 and 7) the first prize was secured by Sri Sankara Vidyalaya, Tambaram, for the topic — Bio Digester. In the third level (Classes 8 and 9) the first place was secured by Shrine Theresa for the topic — Global Village.

Sri Sankara Vidyalaya, Pammal, won the first prize for the fourth level for Under Water Acoustics.
