On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the War Memorial, Headquarters Training Command in Bangalore on Monday. Air Marshal Paramjit Singh Gill, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Headquarters Training Command, IAF laid a wreath at the War Memorial on behalf of all personnel of the Indian

 Air Force in Bangalore. On behalf of the Army, Brigadier S S Tinawar and, on behalf of the Navy, Commander M Handa placed wreaths at the War Memorial. Lieutenant General Manmohan Singh (retired), Air Marshal D G Kinglee (retired), Commander G J Singh (retired) and other senior serving and retired officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force also placed wreaths at the War Memorial.

As the bugles sounded the last post, two minutes silence was observed.

At the Madras Engineer Group and Centre Bangalore, Brigadier

M N Devaya placed a wreath at the MEG War Memorial.

The ceremonies were held in honour of the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting the enemy during the 1971 Operation.

Vijay Diwas is celebrated on December 16 each year to commemorate the Indian victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
