A 17-year-old boy, who had gone swimming with his friends, drowned in Dasarahalli lake in Amruthahalli near Yelahanka on Sunday.
Police have identified the deceased as Mohammed Sharief, son of Nawaj Pasha and a resident of Nagawara.
The police said the incident took place at around 1.45 pm.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel conducted a search operation, but could not find the body on Sunday. The search continued on Monday and they managed to fish out the body.
BMTC Bus Mows Down Worker
A 17-year-old contract worker was run over by a speeding BMTC bus on Queen’s Road on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Mahendra, son of Muniraju and Rani, residents of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Shivajinagar police said. The accident occurred when he was crossing the road with his aunt, they added.
