Exclusive kid care centre to help employees

“Mithila, an in-campus day care centre, managed by Your Kids ‘R’ Our Kids (YKROK) is the hub of learning rather than a creche. It is exclusively designed to enable our employees to work peacefully and efficiently. Our mission is to enhance diversity through integrated approach, feed- backs and inputs of the employees. We ensure that the child is given utmost care with highly trained teachers which help the kids to develop socially and intellectually. We are the first Indian IT company to be certified by SA8000 (Social Accountability Accreditation Services),” says Anand Talwar, Senior Vice President of ITC Infotech.

Spread across 32 acres of land at Banaswadi, the eastern part of Bangalore, ITC Infotech’s day care centre serves an age group from two months to six years and is a unique place when compared to other day care units. A camera fixed in every classroom helps the parents to observe their kids’ activities online through the link provided to them, while at work.

A well set curriculum for children of different age groups such as conversation, singing, rhymes, numbers and alphabets, cursive writing and many more help the child explore a new world, develop friendship and cordial relations, self-esteem and self-confidence which is a pre-requisite for the child.

Ajith, an employee of ITC Infotech says, “I have two kids. The elder son comes here after his school, the other kid is 4 months old. My wife works for some other company and I was worried about my younger child. From day one, Mithila day care started, I have enrolled both of them here. The nutritious meals, warmth and affection, the nurturing and fostering concern given by the tutors cannot be measured in words. I am happy that our children are safe here”.

Having completed a year, Mithila has more than 50 children of different age groups. The Daycare, Infants, Toddlers, Two’s, Pre Nursery, Nursery, Kindergarten, After School, Holiday Camps etc offers working parents the varied standards of safety and tutelage. It has seen more number of parents enrolling to get their kids admitted every year.

A visit to the institution clearly shows Mithila’s efforts in maintaining a well built campus with abundant greenery, flexible time of operations between 8 am to 7.30 pm, with immense safety, security, child friendly furnitures and materials. The children are let free with no restrictions and are engaged in fun filled activities enabling them to learn new things with their peer groups. The spacious rooms with attractive environment, colorful toys, library, computer lab, extra curricular activities including music, dance, drama, sports, martial arts, puppetry, pottery, a good mixture of indoor and outdoor activities inspires the child to learn a lot.

According to Vartika Bhargava Dwivedi, an employee of ITC firm, “I feel happy to leave my child in Mithila as I see my child’s activity online, the daily report keeps me updated of my child’s development and at the same time, I feel secured. Keeping in view the child’s health, the food served here is also hygienic and complete.”

Since its inception, the toddlers are being trained in a disciplined manner with stress on eating independently, toilet training, participating in annual day celebrations, birthdays, festivals and other occasions. They also promote learning of languages, character, increased ability to communicate verbally, mingling with friends, creativity and physical fitness.

Apart from that, a special menu is prepared every week which includes a healthy mix of fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals and milk. Prominence is not given to junk foods and chocolates. The individual attention provided to each child that too in a salubrious environment makes the child stay for a longer period. The kids who graduate from YKROK are brainy, dignified, smart, brilliant and get admission in reputed schools.
