Placements for summer internships at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) concluded on Saturday evening in a record three days time.

More than 130 companies and 403 students of the 2013-15 batch of the flagship Post-graduate Programme (PGP) participated in the process. Summer internship is an eight-week full-time industry experience for students, during which time recruiters get a chance to evaluate the candidate. These internships are often followed by final placements in the month of March.

“All the big players from the banking, FMCG, IT and other sectors were there this time as well. As we have seen, with an increase in quality, the time taken by the entire process is getting shorter and shorter,” IIMB Career Development Services chairperson Sankarshan Basu told Express.

Some companies have made up to 12-15 offers, Prof Basu said.

“Most of our regular employers have made more offers this time, which stands to reflect the increasing standards and quality at IIMB,” he said.
