Bandh against Telangana not to hit bus services to Hyderabad: KSRTC

KSRTC officials announced that services to Hyderabad would not be affected after groups opposed to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh called for a 48-hour bandh in that State after the Union cabinet on Thursday cleared plans for creation of a Telangana State.

KSRTC officials announced that services to Hyderabad would not be affected after groups opposed to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh called for a 48-hour bandh in that State after the Union cabinet on Thursday cleared plans for creation of a Telangana State. This comes even as services to other parts of Andhra Pradesh have been hit ever since the initial bifurcation announcement was made in July.

“We are operating a daily night-time bus service to Hyderabad from Bangalore, which departed as normal on Thursday,” a KSRTC official confirmed.

Until July, KSRTC used to operate approximately 128 bus services to Andhra Pradesh.

However,  unrest over the Telangana issue since then has severely affected these schedules in the Seemandhra region, forcing the transport corporation to run services only up to Hindupur on the inter-state border.
