Victim of attack dies in hospital

Two days after he was attacked by two people over previous enmity at Agrahara Dasarahalli, a 19-year-old college student succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Madiwala on Thursday.

Two days after he was attacked by two people over previous enmity at Agrahara Dasarahalli, a 19-year-old college student succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Madiwala on Thursday.

Sunil a resident of Cholarapalya, was a second-year BA student at a government college at Rajajinagar. According to police, Sunil had enmity with Anil and Nishanth and they had their respective gangs. On Tuesday, when Sunil was standing near Agrahara Dasarahalli, Anil and Nishanth arrived and picked a quarrel with him before assaulting and stabbing him. Sunil was rushed to hospital following the incident.

The Magadi Road police registered a case against Anil and Nishanth but have not been able to arrest them. When contacted by Express, staff at the

police station said they did not have enough information about the accused or even the victim as there was no inspector or ACP in that division.

Five Detained over History-sheeter’s Murder

The Tavarekere police on Wednesday detained five history-sheeters for questioning in connection with the murder of Santhosh Kumar alias Appi, who was hacked to death by a gang of eight the previous day.

Appi (28), a resident of Baichaguppe in Tavarekere, was also a history-sheeter who was booked in cases of attempt to murder and dacoity. On Tuesday, he was chased and knocked down from his motorcycle by the gang, who arrived in an SUV, before being killed. The five detained persons had been booked in various cases including attempt to murder, kidnap and dacoity.
