Unable to bear harassment by her manager, a 36-year-old garment factory worker committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at the unit in Rajagopalnagar near Peenya II Stage on Friday morning. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera.
The deceased has been identified as Puttamma, a resident of Guddadahalli on Mysore Road. She was working in Sansilk Private Limited. Puttamma was married to Janardhan, a private firm employee, and the couple had two children.
The police found no suicide note but the family of the woman complained that she was being harassed by the manager, Murali, who allegedly used to scold her in front of her coworkers for not doing a good job. ENS
