Reservation in private sector demanded

The All-India Confederation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes demanded reservation for SC/STs in the private sector, at a press conference here on Monday.

Confederation chairman Udit Raj said the  state unit would start an agitation for the rights of dalits in the state.

“The government policy on reservation of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes provides for 50 per cent reservation in recruitment and promotion in the public sector along with relaxation of age limit,” he said.
