Bangalore based artiste, Dr Soumya Manjunath Chavan, organised a painting exhibition, a tribute to the contemporary  women, at The Nehru centre, London recently. The show was inaugurated by Pinky Lilani, OBE, a celebrity of Indian origin and a women’s rights activist in UK, along with Rita Payne, a media professional of UK.

Inaugurating the art show, Pinky Lilani said, “It is a very special day to inaugurate the show dedicated to the contemporary women. The vibrant colours on the canvas are a treat to watch and truly represent the women in different moods in abstract form. I am elated to see these works of creation by a woman from the IT city of India”. Sangeeta Bahadur, director, The Nehru Centre, London, said,   “I had seen Dr Soumya Manjunath’s works in a group show last year and I knew that she needed a bigger canvas to exhibit her talent. We are extremely happy to have hosted this solo show.”
