A one-year-old girl baby, which was found in an autorikshaw, parked in Rajajinagar police station limits, was reunited with her mother within three hours on Thursday morning.

The police said driver Jagadish had parked his auto near the ESI hospital to answer nature’s call.

On his return, he found the baby in the auto’s rear seat and later handed over to the police station. The police then informed the Bala Mandir to take care of it.

Meanwhile, Neelakantha, the baby’s father, who had gone to Thyagarajanagar police station to file a missing complaint, contacted and told them that his wife Geetha had gone to the hospital for a check-up and had a seizure attack when she was going to buy tablets and fell down. After recovery, she found the baby missing.

The police told him that the baby was traced by 11.40 am. It was later handed over to her mother.

“Some passersby would have taken the baby and kept in the auto, hence this commotion,” the police explained.
