Aikatan, a club situated Vijayanagar is celebrating Durga Puja in grand style at Sri Vasavi Mahal Kalyan Mantapa, No 606, 18th Main Road, Ideal Homes Township I stage, Raja Rajeshwari Nagar. This is the third year of the club organising the festivities. Dr P K Saha, president, Aikatan, says the idol for the puja has been made by artisans from West Bengal. The priest and traditional drummer (dhaki) have been called from Kolkata.
On Saturday, bhog will be served at 1 pm and sandhi puja will be held from 3.48 onwards. A cultural programme will ensue at 6.30 pm. On Dashami, October 14, Maha Devi Baran will commence at 12.30 pm and a community feast has been arranged for at 8 pm.
