Actor-tuned-producer Raghavendra Rajkumar (48) was hospitalised on Wednesday after he experienced discomfort while working out in a gym at his residence in Sadashivnagar.

He was admitted to Columbia Asia Hospital in Yeshwantpur. Raghavendra had to immediately undergo surgery as advised by doctors. His older brother Shivarajkumar and actor and politician Madhu Bangarappa visited the hospital and enquired about Raghavendra’s health even as his fans gathered in front of the hospital, praying for his speedy recovery.

Shivarajkumar said his brother had a clot in the brain, which was removed,  and that he was well now.

However, other reports said he had suffered a heart attack. This much, however is clear: it was an acute medical condition, according to doctors.

Raghavendra, known as Raganna in the Kannada film industry, had previously suffered a mild heart attack while shooting for the film Anukoolakobba Ganda in 1990 after which he took a break from films and got more involved in film production.

A release from the hospital said Raghavendra was taken in at 9.15 am and was presently responding well to treatment and is also expected to make good recovery.
