The Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association conducted an awareness programme on how to preserve parks on Thursday.

Speaking to Express, president of Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association, S Umesh said, “As there are holidays and a lot of festivals in this week, a lot of people have been coming to Cubbon Park. They bring food and make the park dirty.

On Thursday, we tried to spread awareness among people and make them understand the importance of parks in our lives. We have instructed everyone not to throw plastic in the park and directed them to use the dustbins.”

“We also told them not to sit on the lawn and sit where the cement slabs have been place,” Umesh said.

“People must keep the park clean so that our future generations can use them,” he said.
