Conference on innovations in Biotechnology

The International Institute of Innovation and Pathology department at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI)

The International Institute of Innovation and Pathology department at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) are organising the International Conference on Innovations in Biotechnology and Medicine-2013 (ICIBM-2013) between October 21 and 23 on the BMCRI campus.

The ICIBM will be a global platform for learning, sharing and exchanging innovative ideas that can potentially transform global health and the economy. The highlights of the conference are the Global Health Summit on the first day in which more than 400 high profile doctors, super-specialists, surgeons, will participate. The conference also has ‘Innovex Expo 2013’, paper and poster presentation events lined up.

Doctors participating in the Global Health Summit include Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, founder and chairman Narayana Hrudayalya, Dr Nandakishore S Laud, chairman and consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Shushrusha Citizens’ Cooperative Hospital, Mumbai, Dr Shiv Kumar Sarin, professor and head, Depertment of Hepatology and director, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi. Stem cell research and nano medicine and other latest innovations in biotechnology are topics of discussion and exploration.

Excellence awards will be given to best exhibitors, innovative products and technologies. Global exhibitors from pharmaceutical and advanced drug companies, clinical research and contract research organisations, medical and bio-related manufacturing organisations, biotechnology organisations, real estate, travel, leisure and transportation players and also experts from academic organisations and universities will participate.

Innovative surgery methods including minimally invasive surgeries, cancer surgeries, robotic surgeries and global health issues related to World Health Organisation (WHO) and its guidelines are some of the themes to be discussed at the summit.
