Air Force Weightlifting Championship takes off

Air Force Weightlifting Championship 2013-14, under the aegis of  Air Force

Air Force Weightlifting Championship 2013-14, under the aegis of  Air Force   Sports Control Board  got off to a colourful start at Air Force Station, Jalahalli recently.  Air Vice Marshal P R Sinha, Senior Officer-in-charge administration, Headquarters Training Command, IAF, Bangalore inaugurated the Championship. In his inaugural speech, he emphasised the growing importance of sportsmanship and healthy competition.

A total of 64 weightlifters from all the Commands of Indian Air Force are participating in this Championship. On the inaugural day of the Championship, weightlifters displayed their potential in 56 kg and 62 kg categories. Outstanding weightlifters will be selected for the Air Force Weightlifting team for participation in the forthcoming inter services championship 2013-14.
