Principals and teachers of colleges affiliated to Bangalore University have decided to boycott the evaluation work of examinations to be held from November 18.

The boycott was triggered by a recent allegation by the Registrar (evaluation) against two colleges for not co-operating with evaluation work.

The Bangalore University College Principals’ Association and the Bangalore University College Teachers’ Association (BUCTA) have demanded action against the Registrar (evaluation) R K Somashekar.

“We will not start evaluation work until they take action against Somashekar. No principal will work as custodian,” said Dr M Prakash, secretary of the Bangalore University College Principals’ Association.

Meanwhile, the BUCTA also has taken a decision not to accept evaluation duties. Prof K M Nagaraj, president of the association, said, “The Registrar (evaluation) commented that teachers have conducted erratic evaluation. He should take back his words and apologise.”
