YMCA holds mock parliament for students

“People of India have freedom of speech to talk about both positiveand negative aspects(of any issues)” said Health Minister U T Khader at the 29th model parliament session conducted by the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA ) in Bangalore on Monday.

The session aims at bringing in political awareness among youth. The Minister said, “Youth are our future, everyone in India should be blessed as we live in a democracy. They should decide how politics should be done in the future.” S Amar, a law student from Bangalore University, played the role of an Opposition leader on the occasion said, “Youth power can bring about positive change. I came to take part in the mock parliament to gain more knowledge about current affairs.

“It is an opportunity for us to share our ideas, thoughts and views regarding our political status. We can give suggestions in order to have a peaceful administration in the future,” he added.

Nearly 125 students from different colleges took part in the session.
