Depressed over her husband’s addiction to alcohol and his frequent harassment, a 36-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging at her house in Yalahanka on Monday. The deceased, B Sulochana, a resident of Kondaappa Layout in Yelahanka, was married to Nagabhushan Reddy, a daily wager. The couple hail from Andhra Pradesh. Police said the incident took place late at night and she hanged herself from the ceiling. Reddy was a habitual drinker and Sulochana was advising him to quit drinking. The couple frequently quarrelled over this and she was allegedly being physically harassed. Upset over this, she took this extreme step, the police said.
