BENGALURU: Local Community Exchange Empowerment Trust (Lokalex), a non-profit organisation, and Mphasis F1 Foundation, the CSR Trust of Mphasis, on Tuesday announced a pilot programme to promote education and all-round development of tribal children through information technology. The IT and CSR panel of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been instrumental in this partnership.
In keeping with the National Digital Literacy Mission, the two organisations will set up education centres for disadvantaged children and promote education via technology-led large-scale learning platforms. These centres will be internet-enabled and will provide education and remote mentoring by experts. Titled ‘Chetan’, the first education centre will be set up in Mysuru.
“With the innovative, forward-thinking and inclusive policies of Mphasis F1 Foundation, we look to reach out to more deserving people,” said Dr Rajaram, managing trustee of Lokalex.
Elango R, chief human resources officer and head, Emerging Geographies SBU, Mphasis Ltd., added, “The government’s Digital India vision is a crucial step in driving India into its next phase of growth. We believe that innovation and skill development is necessary to realise this vision.”
