BANGALORE: The Kumaraswamy Layout police have registered a case of rape and atrocity against an employee of the finance department of an reputed hotel chain. According to police, Krishna (25) and Jaya (name changed) had been working together at the hotel for the last five months. The two became friends and soon got into a physical relationship after Krishna promised to marry her. However, five months later, he dumped her and said he could not marry her as she belonged to a Scheduled Caste community.
The victim filed a complaint against Krishna, a native of Mangalore, residing in Vittal Nagar and his parents. Police have registered a case of rape and have also booked him under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
