Varsities Told to Submit LIC Reports

BANGALORE : The state department of higher education has directed all the state universities to submit Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) reports before March 30 next year.

Following the delay in conducting inspections and submitting reports, the Principal Secretary to the Higher Education department Rajneesh Goel had directed registrars of all universities not to delay the process. He had convened a meeting of registrars on Thursday and discussed various issues.

According to the registrars, the other things on the agenda were improving the quality of education in universities, providing safety for girl students on campuses, conducting an inquiry of Lokayukta cases filed against officials and professors of universities, utilising funds properly, utilisation of RUSA scheme, annual reports and CAG report.
