BANGALORE : A 23-year-old student of BMS Engineering College hanged himself in his hostel room in Hanumanthanagar on Monday.
Police said Jagadish Pandey, hailing from Chhattisgarh, in his suicide note stated that his parents strongly disapproved of his love affair with his classmate. He came to the hostel after classes on Monday evening and locked himself up in the room.
His roommates repeatedly knocked on his door, but there was no response. They grew suspicious and informed the warden, who broke open the door and found Jagadish dead.
Newly-weds Attempt Suicide
A newly-married couple attempted suicide by consuming poison at CV Raman Nagar on Tuesday. Police suspect that the two were upset that their parents had not consented to the inter-religion marriage.
Kishore Kumar (31) and his wife Vaidya Mary (24) had moved to the city a few months ago. Passersby who noticed them fall unconscious on the footpath, rushed them to K R Puram Government Hospital.
