BANGALORE: The Bangalore Nirmapaka Kempegowda Kendra Samiti has appealed to the government not to divide Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
Samiti general secretary Marimallaiah told reporters, “One mayor and one commissioner are enough to provide good administration. The bifurcation will create confusion as there will be jurisdictional issues. This will also be a waste of money,” he said.
A protest has been organised by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and the Samiti will also take part in it, he added. “We will present a memorandum to the Commissioner, the Committee that is formed to look into bifurcation, District In-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy and the chief minister,” he said.
