Cops Arrest Three on Rape Charge

BANGALORE: The city police on Monday arrested three youths in connection with two incidents of rape on minors.

In the first incident, Banaswadi police arrested a 20-year-old for raping a 10th standard student, who was allegedly made to drink juice laced with drugs. The accused has been identified as Somashekar, a resident of Doddabanasawadi, who works as a mason.

Police said Somashekar was the girl’s neighbour and would often visit her. For the past three months, whenever he found her home alone, he would drug and rape her.

On Sunday, her parents filed a rape case.

17-yr-old Raped

Kempegowda Nagar police have arrested a 21-year-old youth for the alleged kidnap and rape of a 17-year-old girl. The accused,  identified as Madhu, is a resident of Kempegowda Nagar and employed at a private company.

Police said the incident took place four days ago. The girl’s parents told the police that Madhu and his friend Basavaraju had kidnapped and raped her.It is said that Madhu and the girl were in love and had eloped.
