BANGALORE: BBMP officials were lambasted for not following a court order and missing the deadline to clear encroachments on city footpaths.
The High Court in July had ordered the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike to remove all encroachments on footpaths and repair damages within three months.
When the case came up for hearing on Monday, the BBMP advocate submitted that 50 per cent of the footpaths had been cleared of encroachments in three months and sought more time to clear the rest.
The court came down heavily on the officials during the hearing and observed that it would take action against them for not doing their duty and failing to implement its order.
