City Children get Crafty With Rob on Dikhao Apna Magic

CHENNAI: 3M India Limited, whose parent company is behind innovative products like Scotch® Magic Tape and Post-it® Notes, concluded the third edition of its Scotch® ‘Dikhao Apna Magic’ craft contest on a grand note.

The annual contest that was initiated in 2012 in Bangalore to encourage, celebrate and reward the creativity of young minds was introduced in Chennai for the first time to further its reach and give opportunity for more students to showcase their talent. This edition witnessed combined participation from 60 leading schools across Bangalore and Chennai, a significant increase from last year. The top three winners across categories from each city were felicitated by Rob, celebrity anchor of popular children’s shows.

Rob kept the audience, comprising children, parents and teachers, engaged through an interactive, fun-filled and creative workshop. The children were taken on an exciting creative journey under Rob’s guidance.

From Chennai Ratissh M of Chennai Public School emerged as the winner in the Junior Category, while Bhagyalakshmi and R Harini from Vidyodaya Girls Higher Secondary School won in the Intermediate and Senior Categories respectively.

“We are impressed with ingenuity displayed by such young children,” said Amit Laroya, managing director, 3M India Ltd, “I am amazed by how our 3M products have been used by these creative young minds to create such fun-filled and innovative craft,” he added.

D S Sachdeva, executive director — Consumer Business Group, 3M India Ltd, said, “We were amazed at the participation we saw from students in Bangalore and Chennai. We hope to make the contest bigger and better every year enabling more children to push their boundaries of creative thought and expression.
