CHENNAI: A national level seminar on ‘Methods and Materials for Teaching English Language and Literature’ conducted by the English Department of DRBCCC Hindu College was inaugurated by Dr K M Prabhu, retired principal of Nandhanam Government Arts College. Dr Shreesh Choudhary, professor of English and Linguistics, IIT-Madras and Dr P Kannan, professor and chairman, Department of English, Karnataka State Women’s University, were speakers at the plenary sessions. There were 105 participants from across India. M Venkatesaperumal, secretary; Dr S Kalpana Bai, principal; Dr Mera Pricilla, English Department head; T M Gomathi, literary association president; and the organising committee members organised the seminar.
