Relief for Duo in Civil Court Clash Case

BENGALURU:The High Court on Monday stayed CBI proceedings against two police officers in connection with the violence involving advocates, journalists and the police at the City Civil Court on March 2, 2012.

The two police officers,

B R Ravikanthe Gowda and P S Gachchinakatti (retired), had challenged the summons issued against them to appear before the CBI. Gowda, the then DCP (Central), and Gachchinakatti, the then assistant commissioner of Halasuru Gate sub-division, contended that they had  never crossed their limits of power and a chargesheet had been filed without taking prior permission from the competent authority.
