Teen Rescued from Child Marriage

BENGALURU:A minor girl who had been forced into child marriage was rescued by Chennammanakere Achchukattu police and an NGO on Wednesday.

Police said the 15-year-old girl had been married to a 24-year-old businessman. The ceremony was held at Venkataadri Kalyana Mantap in Banashankari. An anonymous caller informed the child helpline 1098. The NGO team, along with the police, rushed to the hall and they found the bride was studying in Class 10.
