BENGALURU:  Congress Working Committee member M V Rajasekharan has written to AICC president Sonia Gandhi expressing reservations over the party’s alliance with the JD(S) and independent corporators for control over the BBMP.

At a meeting of party veterans attended by former union minister C K Jaffer Sharieff, former Governor H R Bhardwaj, former chairman of the central silk board Hanumanthaiah and others, it was decided to write such a letter to convey the feelings of the veterans as Rajasekharan will not be attending the CWC meeting.

Sources said the intention was to convey the ground situation to the high command.

Speaking to Express, Rajasekharan, however, denied discussing anything on the BBMP.  “We discussed how to rebuild the Congress in the state and the country and what will be the role of elders like us to ensure that the party returns to its earlier grandeur.”
