BENGALURU: Fire and emergency personnel battled the blaze that broke out on Saturday at Kalyani Polymers Pvt Ltd at Konanakunte Cross on Kanakapura Road for almost eight-and-a-half hours.

Senior fire officials said that 19 fire tenders and a ladder truck were called in and the fire was completely doused at around 6.30 am on Sunday.

The four-storeyed building was completely gutted. However, the adjacent building was not affected. It was difficult to control the fire immediately as petrochemicals used in the manufacture of plastic were stored on the premises.

Owner Bhaskar and other supervising officials had fled after the mishap. Subramanyapura police are investigating.
