2 Arrested For Barging into Woman's Home, Raping Her

BENGALURU: Two auto-drivers allegedly barged into a house and raped a home-alone woman in Parappana Agrahara on Sunday night.

The victim and the accused were subjected to medical tests on Monday. The police have arrested the accused Santhosh (28), and Anand (29), both residents of Hebbagodi.

A senior police officer said that the victim, a 25-year-old, works with a private security agency. She was separated from her husband and was living alone. Her son was living with his grandmother in KR Pet.

In her complaint, she stated that Shashank, a friend of hers, had introduced Anand and Santhosh to her and they used to visit her at her home. On Sunday evening, they had come to meet her and abused her over a trivial issue. She immediately called Shashank and told him about the incident. They left the house after she complained to Shashank and late in the night they barged into the house and raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

She approached the Parappana Agrahara police and filed a case.

Based on the complaint, the accused were nabbed at their house and produced before the police.

3 Extortionists  Thrashed by Public

Three men, including a history sheeter, were thrashed by people after they tried to extort money and threatened the staff of a bar at Rajagopalnagar on Sunday night.

The rowdy sheeter Ranjith (30) was handed over to the police while two of his associates managed to escape.

Police said that Ranjith, who was involved in robbery and dacoity cases in the state, had come to Subramanyanagar and barged into Recreation Club at Harinagar on Anjanapura Main Road.

They allegedly threatened five to six men and took their mobile phones and `9,300 in cash in all.

The staff of the club raised an alarm and locals rushed to the spot. When the men ran, the locals chased them and thrashed them before handing them over to the police.

The entire scene was captured on the CCTV camera in the area.

Rajagopalnagar police arrested the injured Ranjith and took him to a private hospital. Ranjith was also involved in a dacoity case reported in City Market police station limits on March 31,2015.

He and two of his his associates had escaped with a vehicle belonging to an ATM agency that had `66 lakh in cash.
