Tree Fall Kills Roadwork Labourer

BENGALURU:A 30-year-old labourer died after a tree fell on him during a Tender SURE work at D’Souza circle near Garuda Mall in Ashok Nagar on Friday. The deceased is Yallaiah, a native of North Karnataka who was living in a shed at Ashok Nagar.

Police said the incident took place around 7.30 pm when Yallaiah and other labourers were working for the project, which was undertaken by the BBMP.

Yallaiah was digging next to a tree, which caused the tree to get uprooted. Yallaiah was taken to a hospital. Ashok Nagar police filed a case of negligence against the engineer and contractor of BBMP for not taking any precautionary measures.
