BENGALURU: Helmets for pillion riders might become compulsory from November. The Transport Department issued a draft notification regarding the same recently.
Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety, Ramegowda said people residing within the city corporation limits could file objections to the same with the Department by September 27. The late date for other parts of the state is October 17. The draft notifications is being issued following directions by the Supreme Court.
According to reports, pillion riders are the most vulnerable in road accidents.
