Justice Adi Seeks Report on Illegal Land Conversion in Mysuru

BENGALURU:Upa Lokayukta Justice Subhash B Adi has directed the Mysuru taluk tahsildar to submit a detailed report on alleged illegal conversion of agricultural land for the formation of layouts on October 30.

“The report should contain the total number of conversions, or permission granted to convert agricultural lands, number of illegal layouts or residential houses without permission. This information should also be village-wise also,” Justice Adi said.

He added that the report should also include the number of 11-E sketches issued and whether such sketches were used for anything other than agricultural purpose, the number of sale of agricultural lands under Section 79A and B of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act and sale of such lands without permission.

In a petition to the Upa Lokayukta, complainant Swamy had alleged that illegal layouts are being formed in valuable agricultural lands causing a loss of revenue.

This is also a violation of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act and Karnataka Urban Development Authorities Act.
