BENGALURU: Tension prevailed at Kodipalya in Hemmigepura near Kumbalagodu on Monday when BBMP officials went there to demolish buildings constructed on a raja kaluve.

When residents opposed the evacuation, police threatened to take them into preventive custody.

A senior police officer said BBMP officials had gone to the area in the morning and had deployed an earth-mover to demolish some buildings. Angry locals picked a quarrel with policemen, who were deployed for security. Officials later managed to pacify the locals.
