BENGALURU: Six members of a same family including two women and two children died on spot after a car they were travelling hit to a container vehicle on national highway near Dabaspete on Monday morning.
The deceased are identified as Bapu Gowda, BMTC driver, Mallappa, cab driver in Bengaluru and 4 others are yet to be identified. According to police the family was heading from Gadag towards Bengaluru.
The incident happened around 7am in the morning. Mallappa was driving the Swift Dzire car in which all the occupants were sleeping. He lost control over the car near hotel Halli Nenapu near Kengal Kempuhalli. The car hit the divider and has tossed on the other side colliding massively on the container vehicle.
The bodies have been taken to post mortem. Dabaspete police have registered the case. The traffic on the highway was also affected following the collision of the vehicles.
