BENGALURU: When a thought of moving to another city comes to our mind, forget the pain of parting from family, the greater one could be hunting for a decent accomodation. Homelypg.com aims to make paying guest-seeking experience as simple as online shopping.
Homelypg.com right now has more than 250 PGs on board in Bengaluru, Pune and Chennai which accomodate both students and employees.
While there are other housing and rental services online, this one has an additional feature of paying rents online.
There is also the future plan of helping you find a roommate that shares your interests.
As a guest starts searching for a PG, after selecting the city, they will be given an option of choosing from vegetarian or non vegetarian rooms.
What more? One can also pick the location they want to live in, amenities that he/she would like to have, the budget that he/she is willing to set aside and the number of people they are willing to share the room with.
“Once we have a sizeable guest database, we would also like to be able to help the guest choose a PG based on a matching criteria that he would like to apply to find a right roommate based on hobbies, common interests, etc.” says Sujatha Ramani, co-founder of Homelypg.com.
The startup provides PG beds from `5000 per month to `25000 per month.
“This is always an all-inclusive price for the guest. This rate includes room rent, food, electricity charges, usage of washing machine, charges for amenities such as wifi, TV in the room, security systems, etc.” she says.
They got a first customer signin on May 15. “One of our lady guests who came to Bengaluru from Chennai came in search of a studio apartment in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. She spent several days meeting brokers and house owners. Something in those meetings did not seem right to her, she felt unsafe. That’s when she came to know about HomelyPG.
We helped her choose a room in Indiranagar with all the amenities and features that she had in mind. She in fact enjoys the company of her roommates today,” says Jaya Nair, another co-founder, with a pride.
Sujatha Raman and Jaya Nair form the founders’ team of this startup.
The idea came from Sujatha’s own experience when her cousin came to Bengaluru a few years back in search of a PG. Sujatha, who herself was in that position 20 years ago realised that nothing much has changed in the process of finding a PG accommodation. This led to the startup.
Jayasree Rao, employee of Cap Gemini, who took help of the startup says, “HomelyPG diligently followed up to help me with my urgent need to find a good and hygienic clean PG.”
