BENGALURU: The wife of Ritesh Kumar, the techie who died after threatening tutorial owner Aditya Bajaj of immolating himself, does not believe the police version regarding the incident, and believes the latter was somehow responsible for the incident. She also said her idea of justice was that Aditya Bajaj get punished.

Parul Mahensaria (31) told Express they had paid Rs 2.5 lakh to Bajaj in September 2016, following which he assured them that he will secure admission for both their children at a reputed school in Indiranagar. However, when he could not not do that, the couple started asking for a refund from January 2017.
“He never paid, but kept making false assurances that he will. He would swear on his children when we would meet him. However, he would never answer calls or reply to our messages. Twice, he gave us cheques that bounced,” she said. Bajaj had returned Rs 1.25 lakh in installments of Rs 25,000, she said. Bajaj reportedly gave reasons of his wife, children and father being ill for non-payment.

Mahensaria said her soft-spoken husband would never have considered committing suicide, and he loved his children. All she wants now is for Bajaj to be punished for harassing her husband and causing his death.“I am not thinking about the remaining money, as I have anyway lost everything. I only want justice,” she said. Aditya Bajaj is currently undergoing treatment at Victoria Hospital after suffering 18 per cent burns. Police say he sustained the injuries while trying to save Ritesh Kumar.
