Two held for misbehaving with policewomen

Two men were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly trying to molest two woman police personnel.

BENGALURU: Two men were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly trying to molest two woman police personnel. The policewomen were deployed in a Pink Hoysala patrolling vehicle by Vyalikaval police on Tuesday.

The accused are Rohit, a loan agent, and Vaibhav, a mechanic. The incident took place at 1.30am on Monday at Vinayaka Circle. The men were drunk and one of them was riding a two wheeler. On noticing the two women cops, they approached the Hoysala vehicle.The accused then allegedly started talking in vulgar language. They also opened the car door and tried to pull out one of the women personnel.

A constable, who was nearby, came to the spot and this time the accused started to abuse and threaten him. The men were arrested on the spot and brought to Vyalikaval police station..The accused are booked under Sections 354(a) (sexual harassment), 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
