BENGALURU: After almost ten years, the state government has allowed state universities to use the ‘Enabling’ clause to start recruitment to fill vacant teaching posts.In an official circular issued recently, the Karnataka State Council for Higher Education told the universities to make use of the clause available in the statues of respective universities. 

However, not all universities have this clause in their statues. So, the government has asked them to submit amendment to the existing statues to include the ‘Enabling’ clause. Dr Karisiddappa, Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, said, “We received the circular recently and we will start the process to recruit faculties soon.”
