BENGALURU: A newborn girl was allegedly kidnapped from a private hospital in Jayanagar area on Friday afternoon. The parents of the child are Thyagaraj and Sahanashri. On January 29, Sahanashri gave birth to twins (one male and one female). The female baby was kept under observation in ICU as she was suffering from jaundice. She had to be fed once every two hours.

On Friday around 12.55pm, Sahanashri took the baby out of the ICU to feed her in the ward. When she went out  for a while and returned, her baby was missing. She inquired with the hospital staff but they did not respond properly. Soon, the couple alerted police.

During investigations, police got CCTV footage where one of the nurses was seen handing over the infant to somebody else. Based on it, police have detained three nurses - Thippamma, Radha and Nalinakshi for questioning. Tilak Nagar police have registered a case in this regard and investigations are under way.
