BENGALURU: In a case of attention diversion, an unidentified man made away with gold ornaments in a moving bus at Binnamangala in Indiranagar on Friday.

Police said the incident took place in the morning when Geetharaani, a resident of Byappanahalli, was going to a bank to deposit her gold ornaments in a locker.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man standing next to her, diverted her attention by asking her if some money that was on the floor belonged to her.

As she moved to pick up the money, he managed to escaped with her bag containing two rings and other jewellery worth `2.5 lakh.

After a while Geetharaani realised that she was conned and started shouting.
“There were very few passengers in the bus and no one noticed the identity of the person. We have obtained CCTV footage to ascertain the movement of the accused and are not ruling out the possibility of known people being behind the incident,” police added.
