BENGALURU: A resident of Kengeri recorded a video in which he claimed a couple were pressurising him to return the money they had lent, before hanging himself on Tuesday.
Ranoji Rao (45), who ended his life between 12.30 and 1 pm, stated in the video that he had borrowed `4.5 lakh from a couple - Vani and Mahesh - both lawyers. He directly held them responsible for pushing him to commit suicide.

He said he had been paying instalments with interest for some time, and the issue escalated when he wasn’t able to do so. He said had he sold his land for `9.6 lakh in December - a process that was delayed due to demonetisation. Ranoji is survived by his son, daughter, divorced wife, mother and four brothers.
Police said Ranoji was in the garments business. One of the cheques, through which he wanted to repay the loan, bouncing pushed him to take the extreme step, they said.
