BENGALURU: The police department announced restrictions on Nrupatunga Road owing to BBMP taking up white topping work from KR Circle to police corner.


The Horticulture Department has given conditional approval allowing light motor vehicles inside its premises between 8am and 10pm.


Apart from buses, heavy and light goods vehicles, vehicles of people whose offices are on Nrupatunga Road, and all other public and private vehicles have been banned from entering the road from KR Circle. Vehicles can enter Cubbon Park at KR Circle and take a right turn towards Hudson Circle to reach the exit point. At Siddalingaiah Circle, vehicles entering Cubbon Park will be allowed to take a right at Central Library.


All types of vehicles are prohibited from Hudson Circle towards Central Library and from the library towards KR Circle or Gopala Gowda Circle.

BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad had earlier said Nrupathunga Road will be closed for 60 days from Sunday as they are taking up TenderSure work. He had said public vehicles can use the roads inside Cubbon Park.


P C Ray, Horticulture Commissioner, told Express that they have given approval with certain conditions. “Only light motor vehicles, including autorickshaws, will be allowed inside Cubbon Park but not during the night (10pm to 8am) due to security reasons,’’ he said. Ray further said that there should be traffic personnel in Cubbon Park to restrict traffic movements.
